This game really nails that sense of unease a lot of older games had with the wide empty spaces and NPCs that pop up out of nowhere. Because there are long stretches where you end up just being lost there's a lot of room to build up tension, which makes the freaky parts all the more effective.
If you end up adding multiplayer, I hope we get to choose our character and I hope even more that the glitchy cat from the water road level is playable because they're oddly adorable and I wanna play as them.
I thought that this was so good and unique. I'm guessing the sense of being lost was done on purpose for majority of the game and that works really well! Love the lore behind it too!
I always see a ton of nes or psx creepypasta-like games but a n64 hit the cake for me! I liked how the game felt like an actual n64 game cause there were always so many creepy stuff when I played as a kid such as the boo-carousel bit in mario 64. It was subtle yet spooky for me. The glitches scared me more than the actual jumpscare since they were unpredictable so way to go my dude! Can't wait to see more from you :)
WOW!! This is actually a really good game! I enjoyed it and, although at times I was at a loss, still loved it! I do have 2 questions however...
1. Is there really a way to get to the finish? (And no, not through your demise...)
2. Is there more to this game in it's current state?
Other than that, this is an excellent game!! I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next update!
On an unrelated note, this game actually felt somewhat familiar. I didn't see any gameplay of it initially, and other than the fact it's a Super Mario Kart 64 based game, it felt like I went through it already.

I LOVE N64 STYLE HORROR GAMES! I really like how its cute but mixed with some dark elements. I really enjoyed the part with the balloons and the road with the fishies! Great job and I'm def looking forward to the full release of the game!
Loved it! Can also confirm it works on Steam Deck as long as you use the Windows version with Proton (the native Linux version refused to work for me).
EDIT: The new Linux build works perfectly fine on Steam Deck! 👍
Like the concept, think it needs more of a story line and maybe items/items boxes to use but really cool look and feel and glad I was able to use my controller <3
At first I thought it was a well-made 64-style game and was enjoying the course as normal! When I looked at the current lap count, it didn't count, and that's when the drive of terror began. It was a very interesting experience, even though it made me feel very uneasy! The balloon area and the highway area were particularly scary and exciting!
This game was so nice, i liked it sooooo much !! Love the Aesthetic, the ambiant and character design ! My viewers really get into it too, thanks for your nice work !!
As creepy as this game is, hopping is useless due to the lack of powersliding or drift-boosting and the interstate section is not very clear as to where you're supposed to go if you end up driving the wrong way. Not to mention the timer means nothing since it does not get displayed upon beating the game and when your tires get blown out it doesn't stop meaning if you end up speed running this game it can feel like a slog.

Nice use of Fmod, didnt know it was free for hobbyists. Was this done in C# or GDScript?
GDScript, but you do need to use the .net build to have fmod enabled :)
